Adelaide

Hello everybody,

So as some of you may know from following me on snapchat, I was lucky enough to travel to Adelaide last week with my gorgeous sister Kassie and my friend Jack!

As awful as this sounds, I had never really any desire to visit Adelaide in the past, I had always heard that it was a quite place with not much to do and I don’t think I could have been more wrong. My sister was over from Ireland and the east coast of Australia was being battered by storms! The weather in Sydney wasn’t amazing and I really wanted her to enjoy the sun and beach since she travelled all that way from home! So in a panic I literally went to the weather app, seen that the weather in Adelaide was decent and booked flights 5 minutes later😂.

Flights:

Flights from Sydney to Adelaide are usually pretty cheap ranging between $120-$160AUD when booked in advance! The Airport is relatively central so the taxi to our accommodation only cost$20.

Accommodation and Location:

Because we wanted to spend a lot of time on the beach we stayed in the area Glenelg! This area was AMAZING and I would highly recommend staying in this part if you are visiting Adelaide! The beach was just beautiful and in the evening we witnessed some seriously beautiful sunsets! I couldn’t get over how stunning the colours were and how the sky went on fire just as the sun was setting! It was breath taking!

Accommodation was a little bit of a let down if I am being completely honest! The hotel we stayed at was really nothing to boast about and I don’t think I would recommend it so I have listed a couple of suggestions below that I have researched!

Activities:

Dolphin Cruise:

When I first began researching “things to do in Adelaide” a Dolphin cruise was one of the first things that popped up!! I was so excited when I seen it and almost booked it immediately! The dolphins are not attracted by food or fed at all, so it does not disrupt their normal feeding habits and is completely safe! We began sailing at 7am, cruising along the coast searching for pods of dolphins. Once we found a Pod the boat would drive directly in their path, so we could jump in and watch them swim past! The crew were very professional and knowledgeable, giving us excellent guidance as to how to enter the water without disturbing or upsetting the dolphins.

It was truly incredible to jump into the water and witness such agile and intelligent creatures in the wild where they belong! Although we only seen one or two and didn’t get to spend that long in the water, it was an absolutely amazing experience and I would highly recommend it!! Dolphins should not be kept in captivity so if you have “swimming with dolphins” on your bucket list, this is a completely cruelty free way of ticking it off 🙂 . #emptythetanks

Wineries:

Although we didn’t have enough time to visit any wineries, it is 100% on my to do list this year! Adelaide is almost famous for having the most beautiful wineries!! Myself and David will most likely be going back early June to do our great white shark dive so I have been researching some amazing wineries around the area and found this list by trip advisor 🙂

Top 10 Adelaide Hills Wineries & Vineyards.

I really do wish we had of had more time in Adelaide to explore and get more done, however I am so happy with everything we crammed into our short 3 days! I had the most incredible time with my sister and she loved every moment too!

Adelaide really is a special and beautiful place, we made the most amazing memories and I don’t think it gets enough credit and I really can’t wait to come back for our shark dive June!!

I hope you guys found this helpful and it encourages you to visit down south 🙂 You really won’t regret it!!!

Thank you so much for reading and thanks for the memories Adelaide!

Terrie 🙂 x
